Introduction to Meditation & Mindfulness
Mondays April 29-June 3 from 7-8pm at the Mini Loft
~with Wayne Porterfield

Join experienced meditator Wayne Porterfield for this introduction to meditative and mindfulness practices. In this weekly offering you can expect a short talk followed by a formal seated meditation practice and discussion. You will be encouraged to practice throughout the week and to come prepared to talk about your experience. 

This six-week course will cover a variety of topics which may include:

1.    Demystifying meditation

2.    Garden of consciousness

3.    Inter-being

4.    Judgemental mind

5.    Rushing a moment

6.    Duality and non-duality


This class is by donation to the Yoga Loft Community Fund- Vinyasa Yoga for Youth.  Known as a “karma” class Wayne will be offering his teachings for free to benefit the community.
All About Wayne:

Wayne has been meditating for over 30 years. During the mid to late 1990’s, he spent 5 years of intense study under the guidance of a Master meditation teacher, Master Charles Canon of Synchronicity Foundation in Virginia, USA. His specific areas of meditative experience have been in both the Vedic and Buddhist schools of thought. Wayne is also a Certified 200HR Yoga Instructor with emphasis in the Anusara style of yoga. He brings a peaceful, compassionate and loving presence to all of his classes.
