Yoga has much to offer teens. The primary focus is Mindfulness. Learning physical and mental balance, and techniques to ease stress and build confidence. Fun, relaxation, contemplation and commitment are all part of class. They will learn about yoga and the benefits of various practices for self-regulation and personal growth.
Practicing as a group is a significant part of Teen Yoga. A non-competitive environment, focusing on equality and honoring the uniqueness of each individual. Partner or acro-yoga poses are occasionally incorporated, which they tend really enjoy! But being a Friday class at the end of a busy week at school, relaxation is also important. Breathing practices, short meditations, and relaxation techniques are also included.
**suitable for ages 12+ Note that mature 11 year olds may also be appropriate for the program
