Cookie Policy

This cookie policy explains which cookies YL Info sets and why. The short version: essentials only. No advertising cookies. Last updated July 17, 2026.

What is a cookie

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Cookies are used by many websites for necessary functions (remembering that you are logged in), for analytics (counting pageviews), or for advertising (following you across sites to serve targeted ads). This policy covers only the cookies used by YL Info directly.

Cookies we set

YL Info sets exactly one first-party cookie under normal browsing: a session cookie used to maintain your position in the site during a single visit. The cookie expires when you close the browser and is not used for tracking across sessions.

No advertising cookies are set. No cross-site tracking cookies are set. No fingerprinting technology is used in place of cookies. The site is deliberately light in this respect.

Third-party cookies

YL Info does not embed third-party services that set tracking cookies. Aggregate analytics data, when collected, is generated by a cookie-free analytics provider that does not identify individual users. Contextual advertising, when it appears alongside content, does not use cookies to select the ad.

How to manage cookies

Every modern browser lets you view, block or delete cookies from your browser settings. On Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox, the setting is under Privacy or Site Settings. Blocking the yl_session cookie will not stop you from reading YL Info pages; it may cause the site to lose your position within the page if you refresh mid-scroll.

Do Not Track

YL Info respects the Do Not Track browser signal to the extent it applies here. Because we do not use tracking cookies or maintain cross-session user identifiers, there is little to change based on the signal. It is honored where relevant nonetheless.

Changes to this policy

Material changes to this cookie policy are announced by updating the last-updated date at the top of the page. If we ever add advertising cookies or third-party trackers, that change would be considered material and would be flagged prominently on the homepage.
